General Secretary's message on the launch of AVTAO's official website
Dear colleagues, a portal is only as useful as the discipline behind it, and that is the spirit in which we bring you www.avtao.org today. My role in this association has always been closer to the ground than the podium — circulars drafted late at night, transfer lists cross-checked twice, grievance letters followed up until they actually reach a desk that can act on them. This website is that same work, given a permanent address.
You can find it here: www.avtao.org. Everything that used to reach you as a forwarded photo or a delayed WhatsApp message will now be posted directly, dated, and archived — so that six months from now, you can still find the exact circular you needed.
The administrative case for this portal
An association's credibility is built in its paperwork as much as its principles. Every circular from the OAVS Head Office, every notification affecting posting, pay, or leave, and every decision taken at our executive meetings will now be logged on this portal in the order they occur — not reconstructed from memory when a member asks.
A record kept properly today saves an argument we would otherwise have to win from memory tomorrow.
What I am asking of you
If your school has not yet nominated a local point of contact for AVTAO matters, please do so this month. If a transfer order, a service book entry, or a pay fixation issue is sitting unresolved in your district, write it in through the portal rather than carrying it alone — a documented grievance is one this office can actually escalate.
And where circulars ask for a response — attendance at a meeting, a signature, a confirmation — please treat the deadline on the portal as final. Half of the delay we face with the department is delay we create ourselves by responding late to our own members.
A standing commitment
I will ensure this portal is updated within twenty-four hours of any circular or decision reaching this office. In return, I ask only that you check it before assuming information has not reached you. Between the two, we close the gap that has cost us time and trust in the past.
