Uniting for Dignity & Rights: The Role and Key Demands of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Teachers Association (OAVTA)

The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Teachers Association (OAVTA) stands as the unified voice of thousands of dedicated educators across all 314 blocks of Odisha. Serving in CBSE-affiliated model schools, OAV teachers are instrumental in delivering quality English-medium education to talented students in rural and semi-urban areas.

As the association continues to champion teacher welfare, professional excellence, and administrative clarity, here is a look into our vision, mission, and current charter of demands.

🌟 Our Core Mission

OAVTA is dedicated to:

  1. Safeguarding Service Rights: Ensuring job security, fair compensation, and regularized service conditions for all teaching and non-teaching personnel.

  2. Promoting Educational Excellence: Supporting state-of-the-art CBSE curriculum delivery and modern teaching practices across Odisha's model schools.

  3. Fostering Unity: Connecting educators from all 30 districts to build a strong community based on mutual support and collective advocacy.

📜 Key Demands & Charter of Demands

To ensure equity, dignity, and job satisfaction for OAV employees, OAVTA has consistently raised key administrative and service issues before the Odisha Government and the School & Mass Education Department:

  • Government Status & HRMS Access: Official government employee status and the opening of HRMS IDs for all OAVS staff at par with S&ME high school teachers.

  • Uniform Cadre Rules: Establishment of a clear, standardized cadre structure and transparent promotion policies for teachers and principals.

  • Pay Parity: Equal pay for equal work, along with ₹4600 grade pay for PET, Music, and Computer teachers.

  • PGT Posts Creation: Sanctioning dedicated PGT posts for Odia, Hindi, and Sanskrit across OAVs.

  • Staffing & Support: Filling essential vacancies for clerks, librarians, and administrative staff to ensure smooth school operations.

🤝 Moving Forward Together

The success of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya system lies in the commitment of its teachers. OAVTA remains committed to constructive dialogue with the government while firmly advocating for the rights and welfare of every member of the OAV family.
